A nice wood sofa frame was left behind in my house by the former occupants. I bought a futon mattress to put on it (after being disappointed by how much custom-made couch cushions cost), and now that's my couch. The only problem is that the mattress tends to slouch down, so I had to tie it with cords to keep it upright.
What kind of door is that which your couch is blocking? One you didn't need to use anyway?
That's actually the door that leads into the front foyer and to the front door of the house I live in. It would make sense for me to use it to get to my screened-in porch instead of walking around the house to get to it..but that entrance is technically for the people who live upstairs. There are 3 different ways in to my apartment, and it's sort of weird b/c it's an old house split into 2 diff. apartments. I keep meaning to still post pictures of the whole place, which may give a little bit better idea on how it's laid out..then again, it'd still probably seem confusing.
In Sioux Falls there's a "used hotel furniture" store that always has interesting couches and chairs ... especially if you want to buy a matching set of about 45 ;).
