a movie-script ending

...or not. I've never done one of these iTunes soundtrack-to-your-life memes before, but one of my myspace pals does 'em all the time, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

Opening Credits: Anne Heaton - Your Heart

Waking Up: R.E.M. - You Are the Everything (Live in Raleigh 10/10/03) (uhh. Odd choice.)

Average Day: Eddie from Ohio - Loitering in the Lobby (okaaaay)

First Date: Mundy - To You I Bestow (HA. Hello, sophomore year of high school. Clearly this meme meant "first date ever," not your average first date.)

Make Out Session: U2 - Mysterious Ways (huh. alright. not a terrible choice.)

Sex Song: K's Choice - Not an Addict (hitting all the mid-to-late 90's highlights, are we? But an uncannily good pick, all things considered)

Falling In Love: Franz Ferdinand - What You Waiting For? (from BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge--yes, it's a cover of Gwen Stefani, and coincidentally, I heard a remix of the original at the gym this morning. Taken at face value, a somewhat apt choice for this category, too, though I'd probably prefer something a little schmaltzy like BNL's "Lovers in a Dangerous Time." Oh, hilarious--this song ultimately melts into a cover of "White Wedding." har.)

Fight Scene: Fountains of Wayne - Lost in Space (um...? iTunes seems to have abandoned its prophetic mojo.)

Long Drive: Headlights - Signs Point to Yes (But Outlook Not So Good) (that's the whole title, not a cutesy parenthetical courtesy of yours truly)

Getting Cheated On: Amos Lee - Seen It All Before (...as is oft the case, isn't it?)

Breaking Up: R.E.M. - Welcome to the Occupation (HA! No, that doesn't work at all. Unless we're, like, breaking up modern bureaucratic government or something.)

Getting Back Together: Locksley - Why Not Me (one of those songs I have no idea why I have--must be a blog acquisition--but it's a cute little song that works okay in this circumstance.)

Life's Okay: Kasey Chambers - If I Were You (sure, a'ight. I see now why I've never bothered to do one of these before, and will likely never again. The occasional delightful surprise is far outweighed by a lot of "yeah, okay, but not ideal" randomness. eh.)

Party Scene: The Changes - Water of the Gods (c.f. previous parenthetical)

Mental Breakdown: Twilight Singers - Too Tough to Die (damn straight)

Deep Thought: They Might Be Giants - Dinner Bell (oh, good lord. I'm not THAT hungry.)

Flash Back: Radiohead - Climbing Up the Walls (FINE. I'll give you this one. But where was this song for the mental breakdown?)

Death Scene: Beck - The New Pollution (???)

Closing Credits: R.E.M. - Radio Free Europe (aaaaand scene)
