Today at work we were reminiscing about the 90's ( Read more... )

Maternity clothes sucked. I had a bunch of those summery tops in giant loud flower prints that are a little low cut but the waist is right under your breasts, and it's like a tent below that, in sheer crepe fabrics -- even in winter! It was like that was 90% of the maternity shirts out there. I had a bunch of them because it was that or mumus!

I don't know, I didn't have that much about the 90's that sucked. I was somewhere between a hippy and a goth in high school and more so in college. And I looked somewhat like I do now fashion-wise: lots of black, lots of army green, tshirts, jeans, boots and red curly hair down to my ass. Skinny, 300 lbs, and back down to half of that, didn't matter. Just different sizes of the same basic clothes.

Then again, maybe that says more about me than it does about the 90's... :D

I saw those tunic tops all over this summer, for fat girls, skinny girls, girls that climb on rocks... I know they're comfortable but they're almost mocking girls that HAVE to wear them.

Teenage angst sucked in the 90's for me, so I'm glad I don't have to deal with puberty again.

I don't want to see the French Rolls with high tops come back. Or anything acid wash. The 'worn' look out now is ok....but acid wash - no thanks!

I never got the multicolored socks. Wasn't one pair enough? Seriously, the 3-color scheme (usually grey, peach, or teal) with the LA Gear kicks didn't work too well for me.

I miss my old Eastland shoes though. Those were pretty cool. And although it's on the verge of the late 80's, I can see Tretorn shoes making a comeback.

A few weeks ago, I saw a album at the Green Bay Best Buy : Jordan Knight Performs New Kids on the Block. Can someone please shut him up? The rest of NKOTB stopped showing their faces in public - for the most part.

I was thinking of busting out one of my Hypercolor shirts the other day. What if I wore it to work? I still have a few of them. I should totally do that.

They still make Tretorn and Eastland shoes! I wonder if they still come with the cards that show how to curl the laces at the end.

I never knew how to tie my laces in that curl. I didn't have real Eastlands anyway, I had a K-Mart generic.

I didn't have a Hypercolor shirt either... all they did was turn hot around your boobs!

Yeah, I remember my pits and my boobs would always be the bright orange, and the rest of me would be the dark purple. Gah!

I do have to say - I have some good memories of the 1990's, save for all things neon. I can't fucking stand neon. (Speaking as someone who used to own bright neon green pants and the spandex with the stripe down the side.)

Incidentally, I wore Umbros with the spandex!

I wore a lot of spandex, but I blame dance class. I did wear the spandex bike shorts under my Umbros, but you could see right up those things!
