Tutorial #1

Nov 20, 2007 14:54

This is my first tutorial on this site. It's the one I used on the banner for layout #2 and the community layout (this may change.) I really hope you guys try this and like it. Comments and criticism is welcome.
:]

  1) Get you base and sharpen, crop, etc. etc.

  2) Make a new curves layer (GIMP: go to curves) and follow these settings (remember to make a new dot in the line before doing the settings!!):
rgb/value: 141, 191
red: 163, 127

  3) Now make a new layer and fill it with #230b55. Set this to exclusion, 69%. (GIMP: fill the layer, duplicate it twice, your real layer and your 1st duplicate should be set to screen, and your last duplicate set to subtract, all at 69%)

  4) Make a hue/sat layer (Gimp: flatten image and then hue/sat) with these settings:
saturation: 34

And that's it!! In gimp, your image will be a little darker. It should look like this
. Really, there's not that much of a difference, but the flowers are a little different.

Please try!! I'd love to see everyone's results!! Comments are 100% Welcome!!

Check out the community, and check out my icon journal!!
