Chapter I.

“Stop that.”

“Stop what, Kurogane-kun?”

“That- that look!”

“What look, Kurogane-kun?”

“That I-know-something-you-don’t-know look!”

“Why, Kurogane-kun?”

“Because!”

“Hm?”

“Because it’s annoying!!”

“Okay.”

“And stop calling me Kurogane-kun! Drop the -kun!”

“Okay, Kurogane.”

“You’re still doing it...”

“I didn’t call you Kurogane-kun anymore...”

“Not that! That... That look!!”

“Ah, I can’t help it! Ohohohoho!”

“Damn it, woman! Why can’t you stop?!”

“Because I do know something you don’t know...”

“Stop speaking in riddles, Tomoyo, it’s annoying. Tell me or I’ll... I’ll...”

“You’ll what, Kurogane-kun?”

“I’ll... aggh!! You’re frustrating! Just tell me, damn it!”

“Ohohoho... Kurogane-kun is impatient!”

“Tomoyo... I’m warning y-”

“You have an heir, Kurogane-kun!”"

Chapter II.

“So, Fay-kun, remind me again why he’s mad at me…”

“Ah, something about ‘putting yourself in harms way’, I think”

She raised a perfectly curved brow. In truth, she had become slightly annoyed by the ninja’s attitude towards her. Here they were, together again after many years apart. She had imagined their reunion to be more… well, sappy. Yes, she had imagined it to be sappy. But what did she get after all her efforts to dodge her guards - an angry Kurogane, sulking in a corner, absolutely refusing to meet her eyes? Well, that certainly wasn’t what she expected. And to say the least, she was disappointed. She had only wanted to greet him by herself so that she wouldn’t be bound by protocol to be all formal and stiff. She did miss the ninja greatly, after all.

“And I’m supposed to say sorry? I’m not saying sorry, I haven’t done anything wrong”

“You disobeyed him, Tomoyo-hime”

Disobeyed? Disobeyed?! She had to bite her tongue to keep herself from snorting. She was the sovereign. And it was he, Kurogane, her ninja, who expected to be obeyed? How autocratic could the man get, how arrogant, how absurd!!

“Don’t worry, he won’t be able to stand being away from you much longer.”

Somehow, she doubted that. In her opinion, Fay was just trying to comfort her and she was grateful for his efforts. Fay was someone she had liked automatically from the start. He was easy to get along with - not like -

“Kurogane”

And there he was, her ninja, suddenly standing beside the wizard. And she couldn’t help but think about how much she missed that gruff voice.

“Alright, I forgive you.”

She was about to open her mouth to protest when suddenly she found herself in the arms of the one she had missed so much. She could see Fay over Kurogane’s shoulder chuckling and mouthing the words, ‘I told you so’.

The protest died in her lips as she was consumed by the contentment and security she felt in the arms of her Kurogane. Only one thought crossed her mind as she relaxed into his embrace, ‘she wouldn’t mind his autocracy, his arrogance, his absurdity, as long as he kept on giving hugs like this one. And oh, how she missed him so.’
