Yeah, knowing how things were going with Effy meant Alex wasn't even going to try and come up with some excuse as to why he was knocking on her door right now. He was there to see how she was doing and making up some cutesy excuse was just too tiring.

The music didn't immediately tell him anything except that he had to knock louder. Too bad he was still one armed or he would have knocked rhythmically.

Loud enough to be heard, even if it took her a second to turn her head towards the door. She... probably wouldn't have noticed if he had tried to be musical about the whole thing.

"Come in." Give her a second and she actually might bother to reach over behind her on the bed for the remote and turn the music down.

Alex waited a moment before opening the door and stepping inside. Before saying anything, he shut the door and leaned again.

"Guess that answers my question," he said, refusing to shout it but making sure it was loud enough that she'd hear him.

Effy eyed him a moment, and stretched over to do something about volume. Not exactly conducive to paying attention to what he was saying.

"And which question was that?"
