I managed to get my work laptop trojan'ed and rootkit'ed yesterday. What I did to cause this was stupid on many levels....

Heh ... you know me - once I put my mind to something, I can be really stubborn, and no matter how many times I fail, I'm always convinced that success is just around the next corner... :-)

Turns out, though, that in this case, persistence bears fruit. I found (through some creative Google searching) that the software was once at http://fmi.compusa.com. It's not there anymore, but Archive.org had an archived copy of it. I (heart) Archive.org, it's so useful for so many different things... :-)
