So I will be missing this Sunday's book club meeting. But I was curious to hear what everyone thought about The River Why. To be honest with you I made the mistake of taking this book on a plane flight in hopes that it will keep me entertained. I am still reading it, and finding it pretty much of a slow read. The dry humor interspersed through out the book appeals to me, but yeah, the overabundance of fishing talk is a bit much.

oh wow, I read that because my Dad gave it to me for Christmas last year. If you can get through the fishing stuff, it's actually freakin' hilarious. I managed to read the whole thing, and I thought it was really good. Plus it's cool b/c it's set here in Orygun.

That's what I was hoping to hear. I'm listening to it so it's less of a commitment but I still found it hard to get into. I'm glad to hear it improves. :-)

I'm really trying to get through it (The River Why).
But I finally got the alchemist and so I read that before it was due back (it's on hold by 32 people!) Anyhow, I'm scrambling to finsh The Weight of Water before it is due tomorrow. So maybe I'll get back to it.
