"You do remember that he already likes you? He'd very much like for you to be his father, and already feels a connection to you. Or have all of your self doubts of not being good enough risen to the fore," he asked, setting down his rising to his feet.
He went to Remus, bracing his hands on his shoulders. "He knows who we are and what we are to each other. Nothing is going to come to a surprise to him. Please relax, or use your energy to make me a nice cuppa." Grinning, he kissed his cheek and returned to his book.

"One cuppa coming up." He made the tea, fixing a cup for each of them, then forced himself to sit down on the couch. "He likes the idea of me, like some character in a story he's read. He doesn't know me yet."

Remus turned his head and grinned at Snape. "Of course there's no point denying my lack of any skills when it comes to potions. But someone is delusional if they think they can best me when it comes to Defense skills."
