Something I forgot to mention last week - I actually applied for a job! One of the small local libraries wants a library assistant 26 hours a week so I thought what the heck.I was last at work at the end of March 2005 although I was paid up until 12 September. My Job Seeker Allowance stopped after 6 months so now I sign on just to get my stamp paid

Not yet. I've printed all the stuff & have until 21st to get the app in. I can do it all on line which speeds things up too.

Having been out of the workplace for over a year although technically unemployed for only 9 months, the thought of interviews & being the new girl again is VERY scary! I get so nervous that I leave applying to the last minute (managed to miss a few deadlines too). My hand hovers over the send button or at the post box & then I just end up thinking 'What the heck!'.
