I read Blackmore's book on it's release 'back then' and my first reaction was one of 'they'll make a mountain out of any molehill just to make a buck' but just as quickly I realised it all made perfect sense. The way a new colour/fashion is sported by one in the workplace becomes mirrored by ten the following week.

Of course the idea meme is the most potent and dangerous as expressed by your apt and rather cleverly stated 'meme wars'.

Ahh but if I am the same as anyone else I might only comment on 10% of what I read.

I usually treat my blog like polite conversation -no mention of religion, politics etc...but it is conflict that apparently makes for good reading. So here I have presented some of my less favorable party conversation pieces.

Wow I didnt know about Dr. Susan Blackmore -I am soo going to get the meme machine...My only exposure has been Richard Dawkins The Selfish Gene book and some discussions during second year evolutionary genetics.

BTW I have been enjoying all the pic/links posted -despite not commenting...Apparently I am both left and right brained (I alternate rapidly between the two -being left writing handed/and right handed-right footed for sports, I guess I should not be too surprised)...I loved the skinny houses, the funky urban furniture.
