It was just one of those nights. I was clicking through files on my computer and found a long-forgotten folder with scans of some really old pictures. It was family stuff mostly, kids and stuff, but there were also some shots of my parents from pre-me area and also some from pre-Robert time. Your Dad was quite the stud! and your Mom was so elegant and sweet in her little suits and frocks. Adorable.

Absolutely agree that back then, people tended to be more presentable when they were out in about. Even when I watch films and television from a recent as 1960, I'm struck by how consistently people got dressed up to go out. That was the period when hats were going out of style (I think JFK, the US president, may have been responsible for the death knell of the hat for men) and women's clothing was changing very rapidly.

Even in the 70s I remember all of us kids having to 'dress up' to go into town or visit family friends. I only vaguely remember my mum wearing gloves. I am waiting for men's hats to really make a comeback. I am doing my bit towards this happening.

Yes, we did the same things. We had to look chic, when we went out.

hahahaha yes, I do look like my dad. Yes, I think it took him some time every morning to... pile all that up. :)
