I'm sorry to hear you had such a crappy time. At least there were a few good moments and you got to see some of your friends. If I had been around I would have visited you in the VG room from time to time; AC is one of those cons that I'd rather spend time with friends in a social setting than hit tons of events.

I do some volunteer work for the video game room at the Elliott events (setting up/fixing arcade cabinets and pinballs) so I know what it's like to be around the games for longer than average periods. Aiiigh the screeching. Very few furs can sing worth a damn. At least I'm aware of that so I bang on the drums instead.

Oh, and if you do get into that PVC outfit at some point I want to see photos. Purrrrrrrrrrr! ;)

I won't be around for a couple days -- turns out I don't have wireless in Ohio after all -- but I'd really like to commiserate with you about this stuff at some point. Your con report reminded me of something that's really been depressing me, and rather than sit around being envious and bitchy about it, I'd like to do something constructive -- like let you vent at me about volunteering if I can cry on your shoulder about my own reasons for fun deprivation. :p ( ... )

I can't exactly vent at you about volunteering, and there shall certainly be no objections if you decline, but if a second set of ears would be any use, I'm both curious as to what you speak of and desirous of helping if I can.

Time to be done with the video game room, I think. Hand it off to someone new, tell the con staff that they need at LEAST three people there over the course of a day if they want folks to come back and volunteer for it again. Because it has become way too draining and stressful for you.

I mean, someone there at the con on business is only doing it for about eight hour stretches, plus any sketchbook overflow they may end up having as "homework" - and they're making money for that. All you seem to be getting is stress, and cons shouldn't be stressful!

Still wish the whole movie thing worked out better, but I'm glad that was one of the highlights of the con hon.
