THREE | Sanity is overrated

The Iliad, the Odyssey, the Inferno~

All the stuffy, long-winded books seem to be here. Knowing him, Isaak will probably find a lot of books that would suit his taste.

Now, if only the library has some sort of device that read Alice in Wonderland aloud to me. It would then be perfect. I wonder if I could find any material here pertaining to my ( Read more... )

All those books exist in my world as well. How quaint.

Who is starving, Cain?

What a coincidence! Now I wonder what other similarities our world shares~

Are you blind ...?
Or simply too lazy to read it yourself?

Excellent questions! I will give you full marks for it.

But if I am blind, I would not be able to read the titles of the books now, would I?

And I did not say I was averse to reading it myself, did I? I merely lamented the lack of audio cubes.

But then again, I have no need to read my own books when I usually have others reading aloud to me, so I suppose your observation is not entirely wrong~❤

I'm a busy man, but also a little bit of a closet bibliophile on the side... it's interesting that you'd bring up such a light-hearted subject in a place like this, Cain, is the setting not very troubling to you?

Anyway... A novel of note, since you're asking, would have to be Der Mann ohne Eigenschaften -or "The Man Without Qualities"- by Robert Musil. He was apparently something of a big name back where I came from, and I figured that I should go back and read it... but it's a bit pretentious and I got pretty pissed with it by the end of the second novel. If you're in the mood for classics like the Illiad and the Odyssey, maybe you should look into whether or not the library has a quality translation of Beowulf or the Epic of Gilgamesh?

...And who's starving, eh?

A light-hearted subject is always a welcome distraction from the more worrying matters at hand.

And if you were asking my opinion of this place, the answer is 'no'.

It is a little boring after the excitement over the undead has worn off, though my fellow housemates still amuses me.

I like listening about their worlds! It is very different from the world where I originated from.

I have read the book in its original language, but I find that it is a tedious read. Perhaps Isaak would find it more interesting than myself.

Beowulf, I am familiar with. But I cannot say I remember reading the Epic of Gilgamesh. What is it about, if I may ask?
