Why do I have such utter contempt and disgust for overly religious people? I used to be as delusional...as socially awkward? Why can't I just get over their insane ramblings and nonsensical behavior!? ok....ok deep breath...let me begin

I  work at a Catholic hospital so it's never uncommon to hear someone make mention of their personal religious

I think you handled that very nicely. That wasn't near what I would call harsh, and you're right, it makes me angry when people play along just to avoid conflict because "they're entitled to their beliefs." Right, they are, but they're not entitled to the perfect circle of protection society seems to have placed around them.
