I have too seen House! it was very silly. Sherlock holmes can kick that guy's ass any day o' the week!

p.s. i LOVE ER! over the summer i borrowed the dvds for seasons 1, 2, and 3 (possibly 4 too) from the library. it was AWESOME!

There's actually an interesting article by Renza on influence and in it he kind of goes over how Sherlock has influence modern day mystery writers esp. Agatha Christie and stuff. But yeah you could actually make a parellel between the show and Sherlock. In which case the show would be experiencing a freudian anxiety of influence and is trying to demerit Doyle's work and then build on it to become a better piece. Whether it suceeds in doing so is up to you critics. But I wonder, can we not approach it from a New Critcal point of view and judge the show on its merits without comparison? Jargon aside, what exactly makes the show so terrible?

lol
i guess i just don't like the hype associated with it, and the problems are so unrealistic and silly. not like ER is totally realistic, but it feels a lot more so, i can actually get into the plot and the characters. maybe i didn't go into house with an open mind and if i watched more i'd like it, because i like the idea of it, and i love sherlock holmes, and medical stuff. but eh, thats my piece
