Feeling pretty reflective this morning after a full day of pre-birthday celebrations. Let's see what I can remember from this year...
1. What did you do in 2011 that you’d never done before?
Swam in a triathlon.
2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
The New Year's Resolutions were more of the progress-towards-goals kind, and I feel like I did make progress, even if I'm not exactly where I wanted to be at this point. I haven't decided about next year yet.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Gimp and Palak had Raymond. My best friend from high school had his second. One of my cousins had their 4th.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
A really cool old guy from my home town church (who would always slip me a 20 when I came home from college).
5. What countries did you visit?
I stayed stateside this year, but I did get a week on the AT.
6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
Less homework!
7. What date from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
I guess January 7th (?) when we got our puppy.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Restarting Word & Table with Caroline.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not running, doing pushups, and getting ready for Basic.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I work with germ-bags. There is always illness.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
A puppy!
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
A certain Coyote for his indomitable spirit.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Congress. For reals, yo.
14. Where did most of your money go?
The puppy, that decided to get Parvo 4 days after we got him. And new gutters.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Bicycling.
16. What song will always remind you of 2011?
I hate these questions because I don't listen to enough music to answer them.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you happier or sadder?
Happier.

The same, unfortunately.

Rich in many, many ways..
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Working out and getting ordinatino/army stuff done.
19. What do youwish you’d done less of?
Worrying.
20. How did you spend christmas?
With family, then driving to be with more family, then driving to be with more family.

Everyday
23. How many one night stands?
Not my style
24. what was your favourite tv programme?
We actually canceld our Cable this year. So Netflix programs? Farscape and Bones.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
No, I'm getting much better about tolerating people that irritate me.
26. What was the best book you read?
A Star Shall Fall, hands down.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Xanadoo (sp?). I band I got to see a couple of times this year.
28. What did you want and get?
A puppy! And a road bike! And a survival band! Yay material possessions!
29. What did you want and not get?
Into the Army, yet.
30. What was your favourite film of this year?
Lots of great ones this year: X-Men First Class, Harry Potter, and Captain America were the top 3.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I am 30. We celebrated the day before with IMA, Zoo, and Slippery Noodle. It was awesome.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
All my friends not moving away!
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2011?
YMCA uniform during the week. Columbia Club uniform on the weekend. PJs in between.
34. What kept you sane?
Walking the dog.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Johnny Depp?
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
What's stirring me the most this year is Congress's inability to do anything.
37. Who did you miss?
More than a few of my friends left for greener pastures this year, including some cool people from work.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
I know I knew her before, but I've gotten to spend a lot more time with Jessi Ridge this year, and I've loved it.

The first mile's always going to suck.
