07-Ghost Wikipedia Personality:
One of the first things that Frau associates Teito to is a wild cat. For the majority of his life, Teito has been treated like a slave and has been raised to be a combat slave. At first glance, he seems rather serious and cold. He doesn't seem to trust anyone and dislikes having people so close to him. Teito would sooner attack first and ask questions later. Proof of this is when he first wakes up in the church and lashes out at Frau for no reason at all. Because of his training, Teito is rather skilled in combat and analytical when it comes to combative strategies at close range. The reality is that he doesn't remember much before his time as a slave and thus is quite unsure of the world around him. Unsure of kindness and how to take it.
Yet he is a compassionate person at heart. While being brought up, he shows that he does have a heart. The reason that he doesn't run away like he could was to protect someone that had been kind to him. A maid. He gives her hope that she will be freed of that house someday as he is when he goes into the academy for further training. His thoughts are around her and then later Mikage. As Mikage is the first friend that Teito ever had, Teito cares deeply about the other. He might get irritated with the blonde, but would really do anything for him. If someone made fun of Mikage, Teito would attempt to beat them into a bloody pulp. Teito also pretended to hold Mikage hostage during his escape so that Mikage's life wouldn't be ruined by him. If he sees someone in trouble that he can relate to, he has a habit of wanting to help them out. This habit usually ends up being a little destructive in nature, since Teito isn't against using force to strike fear into people. However, he is merciful and doesn't really feel the need to kill anyone unnessecarily.
Thus is the source of Teito's heart. He bears a lot of guilt for Mikage's demise and reincarnation into a fyulong dragon. Teito believes that it is his fault and there has to be something done so that he can atone for this. Mikage is often referred to Teito's light. Mikiage has done a lot to change Teito in the end. The kid also carries a deep-seeded hatred and need for revenge against the person not only responsible for Mikage's death, but of Teito's own family. While he doesn't remember much, those memories are slowly seeping back into Teito and it creates a desire within him to find out the truth. Teito wants to know what happened in his memories. Who he is. Why that incident had to happen.
Teito is usually reserved and quiet, but eyes are very bright and expressive. He is easily irritated by people teasing him and especially with Frau's actions. If there has ever been a male that fits the description of tsundere, it is definitely this child. Teito isn't the brightest person and there are times where things really do overwhelm him. However, he knows that he needs to do something and agrees to go along with the bishop exams for one thing and one thing only: to travel and find out the truth. In all actuality, he is fine with sacrificing his happiness for another person's wellbeing. Though he might despite people, he really and truly does care for them. Frau included.
One could say that Teito really does look up to people like Castor and Labrador. His heart goes out to people who come from troubled backgrounds but yet have come out better for it. There are also times where Teito gets very flustered. A caring kid he might be, but expressing it is different altogether. He doesn't smile much, even if he does cry from time to time. There is a certain innocence about him, despite his background. There is confusion about functioning as anything but a slave. It's something he's still working out for his own (kid got overly happy about getting money for the first time...). As he doesn't know much about the outside world beyond what lies in his fragmented memories or being a combat slave, some of his experiences and reactions might be as a child sees their first snow. There are times where he acts more like seven than fifteen.
Strengths:
Teito has use of a Zaiphon. It is the use of energy around the user as well as their feelings. This can either be channeled into an item or weapon as well as spoken word. Teito's is of the offensive type. He can attack enemies directly or sheild himself. He can channel his zaiphon through a bascule, but he doesn't need to rely on one. This is one of his more 'supernatural' abilities that only a few can possess in his world.
Teito also has a connection with a gem called the Eye of Mikhail. In the past, has been given to the Kingdom of Raggs. After Teito becomes host to Verloren's body (also known as Pandora's Box), his father gave the Eye to Teito in order to stop the deterioration of the kid's soul. Mikhail has taken a liking to Teito, claiming that he is its only master. It's important to note, since Teito can still connect to the Eye for a few moments even though it is no longer with him.
Which leads into another strength Teito has. His heart. He is an extremely well meaning person who really does care about others. For what he believes is right and if it can help those he cares about, he will do anything. He will attempt anything. Teito has tracked down the slave traders in order to find where Capella (a slave child he and Frau picked up) had been bought. Why? In order to find Capella's mother. Teito even held Mikage "hostage" so that Mikage wouldn't be in trouble for helping Teito. One of the reasons that Teito even finally let's go of the fyulong that bears Mikage's soul is so that the little thing could be happy. There are many times in the series where he stops what he is doing to help someone else out. Even when he was a combat slave, he disliked killing his opponents.
It also helps that Teito is a little stubborn. Once he makes up his mind, that's more or less it. It's why he is able to channel his Zaiphon through a bascule and study for the exam in less than a month... While it took Frau three years. That's a reason why he takes on the trip with Frau to help regain his memories and find out the truth behind everything. When Teito knows what he wants, he doesn't really stop. Be it his quest or helping out the people that he cares about... Teito doesn't give up.
Weaknesses:
The first thing to notice is that Teito is rather small for his age. It's due to all those years of taking only vitamins instead of actually eating. Many a person picks on him for his height and it is a sore spot for him. He reacts very childish to it as well.
Teito is also very socially awkward. Not just because of his size, but the fact that he knows little about the outside world has affected him. He doesn't really know how to react to kindness very well nor does he understand things like possession. When Frau gives Teito a form of money, the first thing that the kid wonders is what it is. Then he goes out and spends it on things other than himself. Then take into account that Mikage had been very friendly and open with Teito in the academy. At first, Teito doesn't know how to respond other than irritation. Even smiling was something foreign to him such in a way that when he actually attempts it... It's a little scary to look at. It's like he really doesn't know how to have fun or how to be a kid. All those years of being forced into combat has affected his ability to understand the world around him. It's not that he doesn't, it's just somethings are unknown to him.
Another thing is that Teito is very much aware of the people around him. As they are important to him, they can be his undoing. Like with Mikage, when that friend died, Teito was sent into a spiraling wave of guilt that he hasn't shaken himself from. Even know guilt, loss, and regret are constant in his mind and in his heart. He's actually rather emotional and susceptible to drowning in more of those darker emotions. There is a time where he believes that he needs to be punished for what happened to Mikage. Then Teito initially attacked Anayame in a fit of rage due to the surge of memories within him. His initial reason for taking the bishop exam is out of revenge instead of atonement.

First Person:
Am I even using this right? Guess I'll know the answer to that in a minute. Maybe. I don't even know what this is supposed to be used for.
I can't find Mikage, Frau, or Capella anywhere... Are they here? Just where is here? I've never been here before and I know it's definitely not in Raggs.
[ A sigh and he sounds so lost. Definitely confused. ]
What am I supposed to do now?
Mikage... I need you...
Third Person:
Immediately the hairs on the back of his neck rose. This certainly wasn't the ice and snow covered lands that he had been travelling. It was entirely different with all the vibrant greens covering the ground and the trees that towered over him. This was like going straight from one extreme to another and Teito was already on edge from the sudden switch. A slight glace behind him caused jade eyes to widen in surprised. Wings? Where did those come from? He knew for a fact that he didn't have those before... Just where was he? Had he died already and been reborn? Well that was impossible. Teito's wish wasn't completed so there was no reason for him to have been reborn yet. Plus all his memories were in tact, or at least the ones that he had. He certainly didn't remember dying either, so there went that theory. Perhaps he was captured? Had he been captured? He eased only slightly as he realized that it wasn't quite the case. The Imperial Army wouldn't let him run around without chains, after all. Teito knew that from first hand experience.
Teito was alone too. No Frau. No... Mikage. What about Capella? His chest tightened in the sudden realization that the fyulong wasn't anywhere near him. If they had crashed somewhere... No that wasn't it either. Just what was going on? Where was Mikage? Everything else just didn't seem important. Teito started to look around frantically, needing some sort of clue or idea. Maybe he was trying to get himself to wake up from this nightmare. He was in a panic, eyes landing on his actual clothing. Fingers combing over the material that he was currently wearing, he decided to at least find a place to change. It felt uncomfortable not to be in his regular clothing. First he would change and then look for Mikage, Capella, and Frau. They were the most important things in his life right now, and he didn't want to lose them. Any of them. Well... Frau was more out of necessity, he mentally scolded himself.
The brunette then noticed a book on the ground next to the clothing. Maybe it had some answers? Cautiously, he picked it up and gave it a look over. It didn't seem dangerous, but a lot of things that appeared to be harmless were deceptive at times. That collar around his own neck served as a good reminder of such things. When he opened it, he knew immediately that this wasn't just an ordinary book. This technology wasn't something that Teito was used to at all, let alone his own caution still rising. There was a brief moment where he thought he should break it right then and there. This thing still posed as a possible threat and it would be easier to get rid of it now rather than mess with it later. Yet his curiosity started to get the better of him as he started to test it out.

JadeHistory:
07-Ghost Wikipedia New history includes Teito leaving on the Hawkzile with Frau and Capella. They return to the address supplied to them, where Capella’s mother should be. Teito is sick, but stubborn and determined to get Capella home. When they can’t find the house, they stop at an inn, where Frau promptly throws Teito down on a couch and forces him to sleep. The next day, the trio go out looking again and Frau finds an anomoly, using the scythe to cut through a hole in the wall. An entrance is made and once again Frau and Teito are held on suspicion, despite their claims of being a bishop and his apprentice.
Capella is reunited with his mother and the tale of what she is doing there unfolds. The family needs her for at least one more day. Frau and Teito decide to stay and act as servants. However, it seems that the Wars involved has a different way to go about things. This Wars rewinds time since it seems to be unable to kill Capella’s mother, who is merely acting to be the lady of the house. Frau realizes what’s going on and defeats the Wars. Now the mind behind the plot isn’t satisfied and attempts to snuff out Capella’s mother’s life himself. Capella then demonstrates his ability to use attack Zaiphon as well, which Teito takes the blow for instead. In the end, Teito has Capella promise to never use offensive Zaiphon again. After a touching goodbye, Frau and Teito are moving on with their mission.
They need to travel again and this time they decide the best way is to use the Hawzile race. Frau and Teito disguise themselves and take on fake names. The two register and take off. During the race, it’s quite dangerous. On their way to the first rest point, Teito notices that Frau’s lack of body temperature is freezing the Ghost to the Hawkzile. Teito then takes control and rushes to the checkpoint, helping others along the way. Once inside, he rushes Frau to a hot bath and then proceeds to lecture him.
Teito leaves Frau be and ends up captured, awaking in a coffin. He wanders around and stumbles upon Frau... Feeding on a Wars. Teito is a little surprised and worried for Frau. It’s then that he’s attacked by Frau, under the influence of the scythe. He’s taken to Frau’s ‘soul’ and rescues the bishop. Frau, horrified by what he’s done or tired to do, runs off. Teito sets up a scene to lure Frau in and catches him, lecturing the bishop. From there, the two get things settled between them and Teito learns the truth about the nature of the Ghosts and their purpose.
The next day they start into the race again. They pass ruins/crater known as the Eye of God. Instantly Teito remembers that he is the one that made that crater. He slips off of the Hawkzile and some of his latent memories of his childhood start to come back to him.

*Additions for Update*
Not much has changed about Teito and how he operates at all. The only real difference is that there is now a much softer tone to him than previously. It could be due to the influence Capella has had on him as well as the restoration of his memories. He’s quite a bit more expressive in these recent chapters, showing a side to him that hasn’t really been shown before. Teito has given Frau lectures before, but never from the heart, unlike the latest two. This time Teito doesn’t seem to hesitate to express how important Frau is to him, even if he does get slightly huffy about it after all is said and done. Teito also expresses concern for Frau in a way he had only shown for Hakuren and Mikage previously.
The only other difference is Teito and his determination. While he has always been stubborn, it seems to have moved away from ideas of revenge and fixing Mikage to simply moving onto the next God House. However, Capella has been a bit of a distraction and Teito had been quite vehement on getting the kid home, to the point where he had been delirious with fever. He’s no longer stubborn and determined for his own goals, but towards people as well.

….This is Luceti, isn’t it? [ rubs at his neck a bit with a gloved hand. he looks a little disoriented. dazed, even. ] I guess I should ask how long I’ve been gone, even if it’s only been a few days for me.
[ a smile then touches his lips. it’s soft. ] I guess I don’t need to look for you all over the place do I, Mikage? You’re... Still here, aren’t you? Shuri too?
I know it probably doesn’t mean much, but I think I missed you guys. Just a little.
Maybe Kida too. ...Or maybe not.
Third Person:
The sensation of falling wasn’t new to Teito. He had fallen plenty of times even in the last few months, or was it a year now? Either way, he never did remember how he landed. His eyes fluttered open, feeling the cool snow on his back. Teito stared up at the sky, watching the snow dance and flutter around against the grey-blue skies. He took in the scent of the woods and blinked. Wasn’t he just dreaming? Hadn’t he fallen off the Hawkzile looking at the Eye of God? Things were all blurring together in his mind’s eye and it was confusing. It was like a puzzle had been shattered and he needed to align all the pieces up before even attempting in putting it back together again. There were so many blank spots, areas he knew should have been filled in and then other areas that were now painted with scenes that felt familiar yet were not.
He sat up, still slightly confused. It was then he felt the pain in his back. Everything then hit him like a tidal wave. Where he was. What all had happened here... Teito drew in a deep breath at the onslaught of memories, temporarily getting caught up in the tide. After a moment, when all receded, it was clear. Sure, things were jumbling together, but he knew this was Luceti and that there were people waiting on him. Possibly worried. Just to be certain he hadn’t been dreaming before, he looked at his hands. Gloves... Teito then tugged on some of his hair. Blonde. Everything he experienced back home wasn’t a dream. He then assumed he had been sent home... Then brought back. Teito’s expression fell slightly. The apprentice bishop wasn’t sure if he should be glad about it or distraught. There grew many conflicting emotions... It started to make his heart ache.
Teito knew that he needed to be home. There were far too many important things there he couldn’t neglect. Yet he was glad to be back here... Back where Shuri wasn’t so much of a jerk and Mikage... Mikage was human. They were...
That was when the former prince stood up and started to look around for his journal, shaking off everything for the time being. It should be with him, shouldn’t it? He needed to let people know he was back, after all.
