A day at the hospital...

Today I had both a mammogram and a colonoscopy. Let me tell you, a colonoscopy is a pain in the ass.

But they are needed. I had both scheduled for months, and they both fell on the same day. I've had the mashing done before, so that's expected (and the results came back clean), but this is my first time for a colonoscopy and the preparation takes place over at least two days, and the day before is a hassle, what with the drinking of stuff to clean out my bowels. It was literally a pain in the ass by the time I was cleaned out to their standards.

For the actual procedure, once they found a vein for an IV, they gave me something to relax me (knock me out) and the next thing I know, I am half awake for the rest of the day. but I came out clean, and they tell me I can do this again in 3 years...

Actually, the day before was worse, other than the breast mashing. Having to drink a gallon of that colyte solution and running to the bathroom every few minutes was the worst.

My parents usually get knocked out for that.

They gave me something to "relax" me and ease the pressure, and the next thing I knew, it was over with. I was hoping to watch the monitor.
