I like the job I do. I work for a terrific company, for great pay, and do things i enjoy doing, even if it entails a lot of driving and roadwork. I'm responsible for the entire Far East theater, and my employer gives me almost 100% autonomy to handle things the way I see fit. I am so glad I don't have to deal with that stuff anymore.

That's just crazy, and talk about stressful! Where would you have even gone, after 15 years in Korea? It's not like you have a nice little second house back in the States.

How soon can you start the process? Maybe get the ball rolling in January next year. *facepalm*

Oh, I would have gone to Japan for a day and come back on a visitor's visa. Then I would just sit. After all, the contract is paid for and I am fulfilling MY end of it. being unable to work would be the fault of the US government.

Also, I would bill the government for my trip, since they are responsible for creating the conditions.

When I finally got the paperwork signed, I suggested to the company I am supporting here to start the procedure this July in order to get it done on time for next year. XD
