It was totally by chance the Michael spotted Guy coming towards him on the path, just as he was out admiring the scenery in front of the compound-turned-lodge. Thankful that the other hadn't appeared to have spotted him in return, Michael hid behind some nearby trees, balling up some snow in his gloved hands. Childish? Michael? Noo...
Guy was on a mission. A mission worhty getting out in the snow for. Extra blankets. Though the caves were quite warm, the icy winds still reached deep within, leaving nose and limbs frozen at dawn. He was thinking out a construction to make a curtain, but might just settle for drowning in more blankets. He didn't notice anything or anyone.
Guy would of course notice the ball of snow the smacked him in the shoulder followed by another that whisked by his head. Michael had missed due to trying very hard not to laugh and totally giving himself away.
Guy turned when something hit him and dived his head away when the second one nearly smashed onto his head. Snow balls. Except he found no children to accompany his theory that it had been them who threw it. Someone else might have turned back around and ignore the matter. Guy reached down and made a ball of his own.
Not hearing anything, Michael carefully balled up another snow ball and casutiously stuck his head out around the tree to see where his prey had gotten to. Seeing Guy looking right him, Michael smirked and threw the ball in his hands.
Guy arched an eyebrow amusedly and ducked again as another ball was thrown. "What are you, dear? Five years old?" He loudly asked the the tree the man was hiding behind. And without regarding his own question of age, he threw a ball back, aimed at the face peeking from behind the trees.
Michael ducked just in time to avoid a face full of snow, laughing as he threw yet another ball as came out from the cover of the trees for a few moment. "You don't ahve to be five to have fun!" He called back.
When Michael ducked, Guy saw time to quickly hide. He didn't answer. He didn't make a sound. He did however, prepare a new ball of snow and threw it, while Michael was looking to the side, where Guy was previously standing.
The snow ball smacked into the side of Michael head and he had to take a moment to shake it out of black hair before ducking behind the trees again. "So whose five now huh?"
"What is that? I can't hear a word you're saying." Guy complained mockingly as he ducked behind a tree himself. He reached to the snow again, and created a new ball.
Armed with a new snow ball himself, Michael waited as he peered out again, trying to figure out where Guy was hiding. "Oh it was nothing. Just wondering what kind ofspy would act like a five year old in a snow ball fight?"
He could have stayed put and Michael wouldn't have known where he was. But where was the fun in that? Guy peered from behind the tree with one eye and an arm and throw the ball. "The one who's going to make you wish you'd never started it."
Michael thankfully turned in time to see the ball coming and side stepped it before throwing his own in Guy's direction before ducking under cover closer to Guy's hiding place. "Oh really? And what are you going to do?"
The ball passed by and Guy once again hid, his back pressed against the tree. The sound had changed tone and intensity, which meant Michael had moved, but he couldn't tell from where it came. Using smaller branches to lift himself, Guy climbed to the first thick branch.
Hearing brushes breaking, Michael could tell Guy was climbing. Curious, Michael broke his cover to watch the branches of nearby trees, but he couldn't quite pinpoint where he was. "Retreating are you?" HE taunted, hopeing to goad Guy into talking.
Not a sound. Not a move. Not until the other man would come closer.
Getting impatient, Michael crept further into the open and unknowing towards Guy's tree as he tried to find him. "Guy?"
With force, Guy kicked the branch next to the one he was sitting at, which, upon impact, dropped all the snow it carried atop Michael. Then he saw fit to answer. "Yes, dear?"
Giving a startled "Eep!" Michael covered his head with arms as the snow came down on top of him. Once the snow settled...nothing moved.
Guy knew it was probably a trick. He knew something was going to happen involving snow being thrown at him if he climbed down and went to look what happened. Still, he did climb down. Just in case, not out of real worry. "Michael?" He said, half a smile on his face.
Waiting untill the last possible moment, Michael sprung out of the snow and tackled Guy, causing them to roll a bit across the snowy path. Micheal gasped when he finally stopped, laughing so very hard.
Expected, yes, but none the less surprising and Guy fell into the trap. He couldn't but laugh as they rolled around and he couldn't stop laughing when they did. He wiped some snow off his face, trying to dry it.
Sitting up on his elbows, Michael turned to look at Guy, snow still caked in his short black hair. "You okay?"
Guy still laughed and passed a hand through the other man's hair to get the snow off. "Yes. You?"
"Wet but alright." He said between breathless giggles.
Guy couldn't help a suggesting arch of the eyebrows at Michael's answer and snickered. "This coat isn't as impermiable as it used to be." He remarked.
Realizing what he had said, Michael giggled again before standing and offering a hand to Guy. "Come on, let's go get warm and dried off."
Guy accepted the hand and stood up. "Grand idea. Are there any vulcanos on the island?" He said, smiling and patted the snow off his coat and trousers. It was freezing, yes, but he wasn't as cold as he would have been.
