Day In The ER.

As most of you know, I've been pretty sick for the past 10 days or so. I saw a doctor last Monday and was given penicillin for strep/tonsillitis. While taking the meds, I become sicker and sicker. If you don't have insurance, does your state offer any type of charity care?
I had no insurance, so I applied to my hospital's charity care program. They paid my bill.
What place is going to bill you? I'll do some websearching.

maybe you'll qualify to apply for something? look into it.

i once obtained 3 months of free meds directly from pfizer, because i qualified. (unfortunately, my doctor's office lost it, but that's another story.)

I didn't qualify for medical. Which sucks because that's where I need the most help financially. Damn.

just a thought, if you're ever having a ton of trouble getting/keeping a job due to anxiety or other health issues, you can consider applying for SSI. you just need to plan for it well, and be willing to fight to get it (possibly with a lawyer).

I'm receiving SSI checks along with the paychecks from work.

I thought it would be hard to get, but I did several interviews and they did some background checks. Plus I had to talk to one of their therapists. I guess they determined I was in need of assistance in 6 months after applying.

Yeah I'm still waiting for the symptoms to go away completely. My tonsils are still rather large. I'm confused. I finish my meds tomorrow.

Hah I really don't know why they said that. But I was told by a few of my pals to go get tested anyway. ::shrugs::
