This story is so beautiful and painful. I love your line: The thing beat in his chest, full and heavy, exhausting to carry around. It's so true to Sherlock, but it also's a feeling I think most people have had, when they're beaten down and hurting and lost. I know I've felt that way before. It's kind of eerie how something can sound so right coming from Sherlock and still be applicable to the rest of us.

I've felt that way before too. It is crazy that an emotion Sherlock feels could be so similar to one we do, but it almost makes sense, you know? Because he IS human, underneath it all, and must feel some kind of emotion. But sometimes emotion can just weigh you down, like in that line, and I think that's something everyone with feelings (i.e. everyone) has to deal with sometimes. Sherlock just isn't as used to it as we are. : )
