i received a phone call for the assistant principal from d.c. when my son was "walking too fast" in the smithsonian. sometimes, the guards are like barney fife with one bullet, eh?
mesamiruth... you are funny...onebullet...i got about 4 through the day and when i laughed another woman came up and said the same thing happened to her. another woman commented to me...her camera's flash wouldn't shut off...one of those disposable things. after she got yelled at again i snuck up behind her and lowered my voice a couple octaves and told her if it happened again i would have to take the camera away....she quickly turned to apologies and explain when she then saw it was me....we had a good laugh!! i then told her to put her scarf over the flash to drown it...and BRAVO! it worked.
thanks for writing and i'll post some more a little later when i get some more time. got a bunch of goodies! ciao!
heytheresweets... you would love it. i'll post some more pics. maybe tomorrow from inside and the sculpture garden...bellisimo.
btw: went to the Dali show in Phila. 2 saturdays ago...there was a painting that made my jaw drop of his because it so reminded me of yours...from your last icon. i think it was an early self portrait he did and not typical of the style he is known for. i just wished i had my camera to be able to show you. he used the cools and warms in a way that is very much *yourstyle*. thanks for writing!
and i love that new icon...there is something very tranquil and vintage about it...nice!
i like the new pictures as well. i love that you focused on the advertising. it's nice to see them b&w and at interesting angles.
i'm so excited that a work by Dali made you think of one of my paintings!!! i'll keep an eye out for some of his earlier work. i would love to see his work in person. one day, i'm sure!
thanks for commenting on the new icon!
if you're still on your trip, i hope it is going well.
I really love that dreadlocks shot and the guy with the tangerine speedo look is a pretty cool shot too;) Lots of interesting characters in the world;)
