hey, so i have an idea. you, me, nick and zach (your zach, not nick's lol) get together for this superbowl? oh yeah, whatever happened to getting together a couple weeks ago?
Understanding, of course, that you live an extremely busy life I wanted to ask a bit of a favor, if you would be both willing and able.
My sister is kicking around the idea of going into nursing and has all sorts of wide eyed ideas and I thought I would see if you might be willing to throw some advice her way.
I'm sure she'd be extremely appreciative of any advice you might be able to bestow upon her.
My most important advice is if she is really serious about it, DO IT NOW! Some people might say, "oh you shouldn't your children are so young they need their mom" (I'm assuming this is the one that had the baby last year?)I say, the younger the kids are when you attempt this, the better it is. My daughter is 8 and she makes me feel resentment sometimes. My son is three and doesn't notice. The older they get the more they can complain about you always being gone and always having to study.
Bringing me to my next point. Regardless of what program you choose 4 year degree (BSN) or 2 year degree (ADN), you WILL be studying ALL the time. I can't stress that enough. When I signed up for the program, I think I underestimated it and now that I'm actually in the hard-core nursing classes I'm so overwhelmed that I think I'm getting anxiety attacks. KNOW what you're getting into if you're going to do this, and this is something that you absolutely HAVE to want to do, or you won't get throught it
( ... )
Thanks a lot, Patti. I'll forward that along to her.
If she should have any questions, would you mind if I directed them your way? Again, I understand if your schedule prohibits you from being able to. Thanks in advance, either way.
