Went out and bought a new 320Gb hard drive to go in an external case. This will be the backup for my photos drive. It's bascially the only practical way of backing up this amount of data. I've still got to find a useful way of doing an incremental update, rather than just let it overwrite the contents each time. Cost of drive was just under $140

It's a fairly old program now, but works brilliantly once it's setup. You can set it up to only copy files that have changed. And also deletes files on the backup that are no longer on the original.
