I understand totally what you went through I spent almost 6 months after my license got suspended just trying to get an id so that I could go back to work after moving so that I could fix my license. firstly the state of RI wont send your birth cert with out a photo id but to get a photo id you need your birth cert. I had to resort to tracking down my estranged brother and have him get and send the cert to me. its sad when an american citizen who has been here his/her whole life has a harder time getting id than an illegal alien.
