Conklin: On Abbey Road with Sir Paul

On a June family vacation in London, Tom Zimbrick took his three kids, ages 10, 15 and 17, to Abbey Road for a photo to replicate the famous Beatles; album cover of the band walking in the crosswalk.

Zimbrick, CEO of Zimbrick Motors, says his wife, Marykay Zimbrick, took the photo while he watched traffic, which was brisk. As his kids were putting their shoes back on, he looked up and saw a man coming toward them on a cell phone.

The man leaned over to his daughter and said, "It's a pretty cool picture, isn't it?" Then his wife looked over and blurted out, "Holy smoke, Sir Paul McCartney!"

It was. Tom wished him a happy upcoming birthday, which started a friendly conversation. And when he asked McCartney if he'd pose for a photo with his family, Zimbrick says he replied, "I usually don't do this, but why not." (If you want to see the photo, you'll have to ask Tom - he's having too much fun with it to let me print it here.)

"It was pure coincidence and so much fun," says Zimbrick. "A great family moment."
