Recently I realised that I get paid to write stuff that people are paid to read. Obviously, this is not new information exactly but it is a new and slightly depressing way of thinking of it. I will continue to try to write well, but not deludedly. There is no evidence I have any talent for writing anything people would read if they were not being

*sympathy* life can be a bit maudlin like that :(

But presumably they're paid to read it because it's genuinely useful to whoever they in turn are working for?

:) yes, maudlin is the right word.

I assume it is kind of useful, they do keep paying me to produce it and sometimes use it in presentations or to inform investments. Which is more satisfaction than many people get!
