So I used to go to the Super Crown by my house all the time when I was in high school. It became sort of a ritual for me, whenever I was feeling in the dumps, not getting any work done, or just needed a break and a walk to refresh my mind, I'd head out, usually around 9 o'clock at night, and spend a few hours sitting on their comfortable couch ( Read more... )

Yeah, I hear it's a Crown outlet - the problem is that it's only open until 5pm.

I noticed that place when I was at Beverages and More a couple days ago, and I have to say, I can't imagine a less pleasant place to buy books. Well, actually I can, but they would all involve the customer being physically harmed repeatedly throughout the experience.

Yeah, I went into Tower and found nothing I'd want to read. I love Borders on University, I go and read stuff there a couple of times a week. Or the Stanford Bookstore if I want to have my mind blown by some exotic subject.

I had totally forgotten about that Crown. Like blank slate forgotten, and I used to go there all the time. I was actually complaining the other day to someone about Tower books closing and how it was the "only thing" the Los Altos area had that was close to a decent book store since Heintzelmen's closed way back when. Weird.

And yeah, I can never understand people who can go into a bookstore and leave in less than two hours. It just seems wrong.
