Wonderful and Crappy, in general!

The past few weeks have been pretty good. I had a wonderful voice lesson two weeks ago. My teacher told me I never sounded so good. He also threatened to end my life if I didn't do something with my voice career-wise. This compliment has kept me going in the self-esteem department since then. Because, Paul, rumors at Westmont aren't usually rumors... they're just truths. That's the beauty of going to a small school. Even if the subject of the "rumor" denies it, it's probably still true. Just a secret that he/she never wanted anyone to know.

But the point is no one should worry about the rumors. The rumor would exist whether or not is were true. What's the point in denying it if it's going to exist anyway?

You are right, Paul. However, most people cannot have a carefree attitude about such things. I wouldn't let things like that bother me, and neither would you. But some people are too concerned w/ their "image" and things of that nature. They're also sometimes wusses, too. If someone says something about you, tell them to fuck off... or something else of that nature. Who cares?

Alas, people never take that kind of advice. They're lives are always much more horrible and it's always "different" for them. There's really no help for people that care about how other people see them that much.

if the rumor about you was something you were ashamed or embarassed of, maybe you would care a little more. I know where this topic sprang and i know that you don't care who knows about it, but other people might, so make sure you are polite and considerate of everyone's feelings. You're probably right that it is easier just to let the rumor roll off your back, but no one is ever going to do that. People don't want their personal information spread all over.
