Jamie paused in the doorway, his eyes widening. Definitely not the person I was looking for. Our last meeting could've gone...better.
"Uh, hi," he said, deciding that standing in the middle of the doorway wasn't such a good idea and making his way towards the fridge. Possibly against my better judgment.
"O...kay," he said slowly. Talking's good, right? Right? Jamie turned away from the fridge without even opening it and walked over to the table. He turned around one of the chairs and straddled it, elbows resting on the back. "I'm all ears."
She took another sip of her coffee, her eyes flicking up to him.
"Obviously, I thought it was you. There's that entire, embarassing revelation. I'd have shagged you in a minute." She was speaking with an even cadance. Not letting herself rush, not letting herself get upset.
It was an improvement.
"I like you. Obviously. And-" She paused, sipping her coffee again for a long moment. "And I made some wrong decisions. I shouldn't have just stood about waiting for you to make up your mind." She sighed, softly. This had been hard on her - she still didn't look... well. She looked tired - like she was eating now, but it seemed like she'd aged three years over the last month and a half.
A lot of that naivety was gone.
"But we're also friends... right?" She paused. "You can talk. To answer, I mean. I'm not done."

She paused. "Actually, I need to talk, and you need to listen."
