I've been running around like crazy trying to get everything packed for my trip while simultaneously working out some way to recover and print out the resumes and applications I had on my computer's hard drive. I'll check around here and see if there's something older that is waiting for a home or a recycle bin. It may not take XP, but I'll at least make sure you can read/write Word documents and use it at a reasonable speed.

Hmm. Side question - Mac OK? What about lightweight linux with OpenOffice/kOffice?

Poor form to reply to oneself, I suppose, but I just wanted to make the point that I don't believe I have your cell number, thus the posting instead of the calling.

Thanks. I actually do have an old Mac that'll run Word, though it's quirky. Maybe I'll fire it up when I get home. Linux isn't really going to be practical for me given the realites of the public school system.

My laptop was a 400Mhz pentium. I found that XP will run OK on that as long as it's got at least 256MB of RAM to play with.
