Just in case anyone wanted to know, I've decided that Publix-brand Coke tastes the same as regular Coke. So for those occasional times when I feel like having some, I can drink "cola" without having to support all the terrible stuff that the Coca-Cola Corp. does. See, but Coca-Cola only directly kills people in Colombia now--they stopped doing it in Guatemala a few years ago... Here's another fun fact about the Coca-Cola corporation: the drink Fanta was invented in Nazi Germany when the local Coca-Cola Deutschland Gmbh. could no longer import Coke syrup from the U.S. due to the state of war that erupted between the two coutries. Fanta quickly became the number one drink of the Wehrmacht until the end of the war. As thanks Coca-Cola Co. took the drink idea and continued to market it, and of course no need to ever compensate the slave laborers who made it...

On a less sinister note, going to school in Finland rocks; I found out from a Finnish friend of mine that (if you maintain decent grades) the government will fully fund your (excellent) university education until you're ready to graduate. Super senior status is not only tolerated, but in some cases actively promoted by the government. (that sounds a lot nicer than the Eckerd debt I'll have from just four years here...)
