my friend has one and I think he likes it. When I saw him using it a few weeks ago, I was drooling all over it's shiny prettiness. My only concern is that I'm addicted to my sidekick's one letter per key keyboard, and the Pearl has the compromise keyboard and predictive text typing.

I initially had that problem too. I text message so much on my phone that I'm used to that type of keypad (as long the Pearl as T9, I'll be ok!). I would rather have something that looks like a phone and will be comfortable to talk on, since I do a lot of that as well. I tried putting the 8700 BB against my ear and it felt awkward and fat and generally uncomfortable.

My parents used to have the Sidekicks but switched over to BB, I think they like not having to flip the screen all the time, since they use theirs for paging/email only.
