Character Information
General
Canon Source: Axis Powers Hetalia
Canon Format: Webcomic/anime/manga
Character's Name: France, the French Republic or République française; Human name Francis Bonnefoy
Character's Age: Appears 26, he's actually something like eleven-hundred to sixteen-hundred years old, depending on what you believe to be "pre-France".
Conditional: If your character is 13 years of age or under, please clarify how they will be played. N/A
What form will your character's NV take? It will take the form of a small, white
netbook, styled with a French flag on the back section.
Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities: He heals much faster than normal and things that should kill him do not; he is immortal, because he is a nation.
Conditional: If your character has no superhuman canon abilities, what dormant ability will you give them? If it is permissible, I would like to give Francis a charming power which is channeled through his words.
To those that are more weak-willed, gullible, or just generally willing to listen to Francis, it would indirectly place the intent of his words into the person's subconscious and influence their actions, almost like "The Force" in Star Wars, but much weaker in power. To someone who has been influenced by his power, it will appear sometimes as a passing thought, or subconsciously convince the victim to perform actions willingly, but definitely not the mind-control aspect of The Force. What he's saying doesn't matter, it's what he wants them to think that would be placed in their subconscious.
Of course, those that are resistant to psychic abilities, generally have stronger minds, or simply are adamantly opposed to what Francis' intent is would take much longer or even forever to burrow into their subconscious.
Written word or typed word would have much the same effect, only these would be even weaker in power than when he's actually speaking.
Weapons: Perhaps a small pocket knife, nothing else.
History/Personality/Plans/etc.

Conditional: Brief summary of previous RP history: N/A
Character Personality: Francis is an easily likeable man, very friendly toward everyone who is obviously not trying to be a threat toward him, particularly when it comes to beautiful ladies. He is a very kinetic person, touching others without any hesitation, sometimes in rather inappropriate places. He also loves to give out hugs and kisses - he needs to spread his love around to everyone, even if they don't want it. As shown in the canon, he loves loving people, and that really shows in the way he talks. His smile to greet you is really genuine - or at least a very convincing fake - and his gestures are warm and inviting. He usually calls himself "Papa Francis" or "Big Brother Francis" when speaking to someone, depending on their age, when it comes to taking care of a need he believes he can supply - for example, "Let Big Brother Francis make you some real food" to someone who has not been eating well, or "Spend the night with Papa Francis, you poor thing" to a child who has no place to go. The only exception to this rule is Germany; France and Germany have been working together for many years now, true, but he still can't help but be instinctively afraid of the German giant.
When asked about something he passionately loves, whether it be art, wine, or beautiful men and women, he does tend to rant quite frequently. Inheriting this from his Grandpa Rome, he can speak for hours about the things he loves. Usually the things he hates get quite a lot of words dedicated to them, just, not in a good way. He does have an opinion about practically everything and really does not mind sharing it with anyone who will listen. He really just loves to hear himself talk, though he does love to talk with someone else much more. Anything he can do to get someone to have a conversation with him, he'll usually try, unless they're obviously a threat to him.
When around people that he has befriended, or even started to befriend, he will usually try to come up with a pet name for them, to add a sense of familiarity between them. Usually they are in French, such as "mon petit", "ma belle", "mon chou", and "m'ange". However he eventually runs out of them and starts calling people "my dear", "my friend" - anything to get on someone's good side. He tries to pick out ones that people will not find annoying, however, if they make too much of a fuss about being called by any name, he will just try and shorten their real name to get a nickname. He does love to tease people if they make a bit too much of a fuss about something so simple as a pet name.
Francis is known to be quite vain, so vain in fact that if you insult his looks he will immediately begin to weep and turn into a drama queen. He always wants to look good, always wants to give that perfect first impression, or second or third. He has quite a romantic mind, which often likes to paint things in a better light than they actually are, but when it comes to his looks he is obsessed. The slightest thing wrong with his outfit will put him in a mood for the rest of the day. A wrong glance at him from a stranger could send him into a tizzy, wondering what part of his appearance is out of place.
Francis really is a hedonist and a pervert, always trying to enjoy life more than actually working for said enjoyable life; however, when the situation calls for it, he is a very hard worker and will not give up until the job is done. In this universe, he will more than likely be doing much of the latter compared to his days spent in France. His priority is always to keep life enjoyable for him and those that he cares about, whether it be in simple gestures like adding extra chocolate syrup to a friend's ice cream, to splurging on someone's birthday present. Making others feel good makes him feel good, especially since his enormous ego gets quite a bit of stroking from their praise.
While being a hedonist, he does really have a need to protect those he loves and take care of them. From many years of being a father to Canada and Seychelles and his many former colonies, Francis has developed a sort of father complex toward anyone he feels needs his help - whether it be a little child or a big crybaby like his "little brother" North Italy. Around others, he is extremely sympathetic and empathic, wanting to help them if they are in trouble or just can't make ends meet. He has been tricked a few times, but once you get on his bad list it can be extremely, extremely difficult to work your way back up into his circle of friends.
Conditional: Personality development in previous game: N/A
Character Plans: Immediate plans are to get him to arrive in the Darkness, so that I can play with Francis being frightened of the Darkness. After all, it is the stuff of nightmares, and this would destroy Francis for the first week or couple of weeks. Then, I'd really like to get him over his fear through the support of friends he's (hopefully) made in that time.
As for far-out plans, the only thing I'm wanting to do is get him a job that has even just slightly to do with his ability, whether it be working at the Lions Gate as a bartender, working at a radio station, something like that. If that won't work, he could always fall back on his natural talents in the culinary arts and the fine arts. He's pretty good at adapting to changing times so he'll try to be a functional citizen first and foremost. If he runs into his castmates he may try to help them get home and see if he can too, but for that we will see.
Appearance/PB: He is mid-twenties in terms of his looks, with shoulder-length blond hair and blue eyes. He has an eternal patch of stubble on his chin, almost like a beard but certainly not as scruffy. He is built well, not overly muscular but certainly not skinny. He's got a well-defined body, perhaps because of all the... ahem... "exercise" he gets. He sometimes has his hair up in a ponytail, mostly when he's busy with something or cooking. He likes to wear nice clothes, though the occasional hoodie/t-shirt/jeans combo appears on his person. He is quite handsome and looks very charming in terms of the Western definition of the term, and he revels in this fact quite often.
This is his canon appearance, as well as
several more pictures of himself. I did say he was quite vain, after all.

[Francis was lost. So terribly, utterly lost. All he had learned from the so-called "Greeter" the night before was that he was in Canada, and that he was going to be stuck there for a long time, so he had better use his NV - she had pointed to the little Netbook he had been given - to study this place. He wasn't quite sure what an "NV" was, but he might as well poke around a little. After finding a little bench to sit on, Francis opens his Netbook.]
'Welcome to the Network, Francis Bonnefoy'? Oh dieu, what is going on? [He mutters to himself, looking through the many options he was given. He decides upon the "search" option after reading the description - "Find articles, contact information", blah blah blah, what he was interested in was contact information. Someone, anyone, who could tell him anything more about this place. He moves the mouse to the option and clicks it, and is surprised to find that it nearly instantly loaded the page.] Some technology this is... Alors... I should look for Matthieu first, he will let me know what is going on. He wouldn't keep his Papa in the dark, would he? [So the first thing he types is "Canada". It gives him no results, other than this city being somewhere in Canada. With a soft sigh, he tries his son's human name, "Matthieu Williams". There are no results.]
[He frowns, leaning back, trying to think of what to do now. Perhaps America could be contacted. He was always wanting to be the hero, after all, and if Francis said he needed help, Alfred would surely respond. He types in "America" and "Alfred Jones", neither of which give any results. With another frustrated sigh, he starts randomly typing in his colleague's names, hoping that something would come up. He is surprised to find that one came up with a match. "Ludwig Beilschmidt" came up with some contact information. Instantly he clicks on it, and is relieved to hear Ludwig's voice. However, he had been directed to Ludwig's... voicemail? Through his computer? That was a new one. But, he tries speaking to the computer anyway.]
Allemagne, it's Francis. I don't know where I am, all I've heard is that I'm somewhere in Canada and that it's impossible to leave. Maybe you know something more than I do. I don't know what to do, Ludwig... s'il vous plaît, help me. I don't know how to check messages on this thing yet, but I've been told I'm in... the "Starting District", whatever that means. If you can find me, or tell me where to go from here... help out a friend, Ludwig? Merci beaucoup. [He then clicks the "End Message" button, and the computer makes a happy little chime to tell him that it was sent. Now all he has to do is wait, and hope that he wouldn't be stuck here by the time those sirens went off again.]

Francis walked into the building labeled Club 24, a little bit leery about the protection it would provide. The sirens were going to sound any minute, and he'd heard some strange things about this place. There hadn't been many deaths here, however, and it would certainly keep him away from those... things outside, whatever they were. "Ah la la, to be back in France, even just for one night!" He mutters to himself, knowing he looked a little out of place in the crowd, as there seemed to be black clothing and makeup strewn just about everywhere in the club, and a leash here or there. But it didn't matter, Francis was not there for the entertainment, but rather to stay safe (although, there was that lovely brunette woman in the corner he wanted to chat with, she looked like she'd be a tiger in the bedroom).
He then made his way over to the bar and ordered something cheap, he only had a little on him - just enough to pay for a bottled beer. "Ugh." Definitely not his favorite drink, he'd much prefer something of the wine family more, but if he bought something and just watched the scene in front of him, maybe chat if he felt up to it, there would be no reason for the surly bouncers to kick the Frenchman out. He heard the sirens go off as he waited for his beer, but over the music, it's very faint - just another background noise of this place. As soon as he has it, he take a drink. "M-mon dieu-!" This stuff tasted like piss. How could Amerique, or Allemagne, or Angleterre stand this swill? "C'est terrible!" He once again muttered to himself. No matter, he would choke it down somehow. Once more, he takes a sip. Oh, god, it just gets worse and worse, he can't stomach any more of this! But he has to, he bought it.
He catches a glimpse of the brunette in the corner curling her hair around her finger. Either a nervous reaction, or she's trying to impress someone. Approaching her now would be a smart move, he thinks. So, he took the sewer-water this place served as "alcohol", and makes his way to greet her. It was simply a matter of sitting down next to her, and smiling. "Bonsoir, mademoiselle." As he thought, the girl was nervous, he could tell by her eyes; she must have been worried about the sirens outside, she seemed perfectly fine when he first walked in.
Francis' next line came all too easy, as he leaned in a little closer. "Do you come here often?" When she shook her head and continued staring into the crowd, he shrugged. "This is my first time here, I only came here to get away from the Darkness until the next siren. Do you like this club?" He saw her tense up even more, which was normally a bad thing when trying to seduce a lovely woman; but he had the perfect idea after this, he hadn't lost her yet. She responded curtly and quietly, something about it being decent enough, averting her eyes from him. Francis took the opportunity to place his hand over hers and say, "With such beauty as you here, ma fleur, I think it's the perfect escape." She pretended to be disinterested by looking away and drawing her hand back - a typical trick - but from the slight red tinge to her cheeks Francis could tell he got to her. If the next hour went this well, he was sure he would have her in his arms by the morning siren.
