XD XD

now holly...
tell me...
HOW ON EARTH DO YOU DRAW SO WELL WITH UR TABLET?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!
I am beyond UNDERSTANDING as to HOW you people (i.e. You and Natasha Allegri) draw so well with tablets.

I mean, before I used to blame it on the size and shitiness of my tablet (i.e. it is the smallest + cheapest + oldest one you can get) however Natasha Allegri actually has the EXACT SAME TABLET as ME and her stuff is like, WOOOAHAHHHHA

How did you get so damn GOOD?! XD XD XD you have to teach meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

HOWWWWWWWWWWWWWXD

deeeeeeeearest julia my darling,
aaah! i suck at tablet drawing.
i wanted to draw just like natasha allegri o.o

aaaanyway, i spent about six hours staring at all her drawings trying to see how she did it XD and what i managed to garner was:

ALWAYS USE ONE-PIXEL BRUSH IN PHOTOSHOP.
DRAW REALLY HUGE AND THEN SHRINK DOWN.
DRAW IN WIDE STROKES AND NOT IN TINY DETAILS.
UM..
THAT'S IT.
GAH.
I SUCK.

heh, who DOESNT want to draw like natasha allegri??? XD

I 'studied' her stuffs too. and I noticed she uses OpenCanvas and NOT adobe photoshop :P the difference is thus: (if you use a crappy tablet such as mine.. how big is ur tablet? I think its better than mine, right? cos it's newer..)

Adobe photohshop = the faster you draw the nicer your lines look. if you draw slowly they WOBBLE + look gay. (like a gay mouse!! (sorry couldn't help it)
Opencanvas = the slower you draw the nicer ur lines look. if you draw fast then they get weird jagged edges thingys and look ugly

Maybe you should try opencanvas? i find it quite good for lineart tho currently I am torn between OC and PS... but PS rocks at COLOURING for SURE

oooh and a questions: if you draw everything with 1 px brush and then resize it DOWNNN wouldn't it become TINNNHY?

and... YOU DONT SUCK. that kinda stuff took me some time to figure out!! O_O like.. if you draw big and then resize it...sometimes it looks better O.O

WTFFFFFFFFF

natasha allegri uses OC?
i find that incredible
BECAUSE all the times i've tried OC
the brushes are all pixelly and gross
and even though i messed around quite a lot (i got version 4 i think.. the trial period ran out DDD:) the brushes were always pixelly and never lovely and smooth like photoshop brushes O___O
weird.. maybe it's just my inability to understand OC
odd, many people say OC is easier, but PS is SOO much easier

anyway! one-pixel lines don't become THAT tiny (see above drawing)
and my resization isn't that drastic, just about 100px. definitely definitely try drawing in one pixel brush, it really made all the different for me.

Heh, thats interesting about oC...I found the brushes in PHOTOSHOP are really WOBBLY and the ones in oC are smooth (if you draw slowly that is).. maybe you have to try it out more or maybe its cos of your tablet?

Also oC has lots of options for brushes, so you might need to play round with them?

I know, its weird how everyone says Photoshop is harder, its just cos it LOOKS harder but it's easier once you get the hang of it - just cos it's very 'multifunctional' ie you can do lots of stuff other than cartoony CGs on it (like edit photos etc) so it's more advanced overall as a program. (oC = stricly for CGing..i think)

Yepp if you look here -->
http://normallife.livejournal.com/profile I think you will find Natasha Allegri clearly states opencanvas as her interest... lol

also I think you need to play with the brushes in Oc more cos I'm sure you can get them to work for you...?

OMG I JUST REALISED YOU KNOW QUEEN OF DORKS!! yippeee
