Currently reading: Amberville. Totally effing weird -- film noir featuring anthropomorphic stuffed animals -- but it's a fun ride. The fact it's translated from Swedish makes it even weirder. I love a good translation, and only getting it 90% right is part of the charm (see: War With The Newts).

I can't get into Thirteen and I haven't read The Steel Remains yet. Loved his Altered Carbon series, though. Loved.

I can't decide if Thirteen is a departure, or Morgan finally deciding he's going to be unapologetically macho. Market Forces moved in that direction, and then Thirteen was sort of over-the-top -- for me at least. Still fun, but I rolled my eyes a lot.

IIRC everything he's written has been optioned at this point, which is a pretty awesome place to be for a writer. Altered Carbon could be pretty amazing, or it could be Babylon A.D.
