She firmly believes that Sadam Hussein was in bed with Al Qaida in planning 9-11; that Hussein had large stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction and that we found them; that 95% of all

Sad thing about that admission... I've seen folks suggesting it was a trap.

If the only thing we're holding al-Qahtani on is fruits from a poisoned tree, then we have nothing to hold him on. We'd probably be legally bound to release him.

So, it's been suggested that Crawford was saying this to try to force Obama to dirty himself, holding someone based upon information obtained through torture.

But I think Obama might fox them... he might just say "we're creating a POW camp, in accordance with the Geneva conventions" and hold them, not as criminals, but as hostiles. It means giving them a lot of amenities, but, so what? So what if they can form a couple of soccer teams, or get some scrip money they can use to buy chocolates or books and magazines? What matters is making sure they're not dangerous.

I think this calls for fighting fire with fire. When she starts in on that, demand HER sources, and refuse to accept anything from a "far-right-leaning source" such as Faux News, Limbaugh, Hannity, or National Review because they aren't legitimate or credible. It won't change her mind, but it may at least get her to STFU.

I do ask for cites, and she says she'll come up with some, but never does. There really is no point in trying to discuss this kind of stuff with her, because obviously we don't live in the same universe, but sometimes I hear the things she says and I just can't help trying to set things straight. OTOH, she tells me if I would just get more viewpoints (like Chris Dodd and Rush Limbaugh and Fox News) I would better understand the world. I try to tell her I know what they're saying; they're just wrong, but that gets us nowhere.

It gets hard to maintian my happy mood about regaining our country when I am surrounded by people mourning the loss of their savior, Bush and the arrival of the Anti-Christ.

Well, my next recommendation is that you pointedly mark every significant date that goes by without a terrorist attack, starting with Obama's first month in office. Then every month after that, Memorial Day, the 4th of July, Sept. 11, Veterans' Day, even Pearl Harbor Day. Oh, and major Muslim holidays too.

If it were me, I'd take a cue from this website, and make a sign that could be updated and reposted as necessary.
