People are stupid when it comes to cats. Someone dumped a declawed male ginger out at Grapevine Lake for who knows what reason. Dogs, coyotes, human beings, there are all sorts of things out there that could have hurt him. We only know about his particular story because we adopted him this evening.

I can understand if he said "We just had time to grab the kids and prayed the pets would be OK", or "We loaded up the dogs, but we couldn't find the cats". But they not only had time to load up the dogs, they actually had the cats in their hands, and instead of carrying them to the car, they just threw them them out into the yard to "fend for themselves". That's what I can't understand.
