jet bombers keep streaking across the sky. the air rumbles, the house shakes. we are 20 miles from logan as the crow flies across the water. we can see airplanes take-off and land when we stand on shore road. it usually a very active sky. our skies are quiet of all movement except for the bombers that patrol the coast. yesterday at 4:30 a jet

sort of like the ending of neville shute's 'on the beach'. i think they have a picnic and lay on the sand at the end of the world.
