It doesn't happen in NYC, at least, in the privacy of people's homes. Everyone meets at restaurants or bars, which of course becomes an expense.
What happened to your friends? Is this a part of growing up? People having families and not having time for friends? I'm freaking out.

I really don't know. All of my friends live in Albany and NYC and etc.

I've been kind of jumpy and nomadic since I moved here, and most of the people I know I met through work. Which means that when I left work, they left me, mostly. That's what happens to everyone these days. And while I was having a stressful year last year, I ended up losing most of my friends that *weren't* through work because I just wasn't around because I was... working. :) LOL.

You just need to find the people that will have game nights at your house. NYC is awesome, but the bigger a place is the longer it takes to find your niche. You will find it, I know! :)

You could invite some people to a Scrabble night at your house. Mini-tourney. Give prizes and serve really great hors d'ouveurs. :)
