It's Christmas time in the village...

So, yes, I spent Christmas in my village. The week itself was low at some points, but high at others. Luckily, I managed to get photographs of the high points.

Yay!
What should we do next...?
I love this picture because I know the smile she has on her face, even though I can't see it.
Success! Two balloons at once, no small feat for such small arms.
And big concentration for such a little girl.
Damba, taking it all in with a smile, as usual.
Practicing the national passtime, of course.
Laciba, timing her move very carefully.
Alhassan's game face.
This is her fart face. Why yes, I taught her how to make fart noises. What kind of American friend would I be if I hadn't?
Caught in the act. Sharing was about to take place.
Where's the balloon, Nyebaa? Here it is! Can never get this kid to smile.
If I could keep moments like this at the forefront of my heart, I'd never feel sadness.
Brother & Sister, Alhassan (Nyebaa) and Fusina.
She'd been outsmarted by that balloon for about thirty seconds at this point. She didn't give up, though!
I like to think that heaven is shining down on her with some sort of blessing.

And here's a video if you wanna watch. Even Mom got in on the action, eight months pregnant and eager to have a reason to smile.
