Au contraire, that was very interesting. I've always wondered about those sleeping nets, because I tend to get bitten my mosquitoes while outside during the day or evening. So, the nets are helpful, but maybe not a catch-all?
The nets are Long-Lasting Insecticide Treated nets - meaning that they're woven plastic that's been treated with insecticide, killing the bugs when they land on it. Think of it like a birth control implant - it secretes the insecticide very slowly, but is powerful enough to kill tiny bugs.
Most mosquitoes like to bite in the late evening and early morning and they're typically attacted to the smell of feet. I've found that if I wash my feet really well, I can avoid the bites. The nets protect like screens do on your windows and doors - they keep almost everything out.
