I leave Ghana April 3rd, almost four years to the day I first set foot on the continent of Africa. In a lot of ways, finishing Peace Corps has been more work than it took to get in. Sure, there's always papers to sign, work descriptions to write, and accounts to close no matter what paths I take in life, but this is something beyond what I'd ever ( Read more... )

Thanks, T. I try to write from the heart - when it concerns things like this and the people I mentioned above, it's easy to come up with something.

Beth - your writing is, as always, incredibly eloquent. Peace Corps, the country of Ghana, and I have been blessed to know you during your incredible adventure. Thanks for your service. And I'm so glad that you are going into the field of public health. We need more people like you.

Best,

That means a lot to me, Matt. Thank you. I can't wait to see what the future holds for me, but I know this experience and my time in Ghana will have a profound effect on that.

I really appreciate your making and taking the time to write of your experiences in Ghana. I am thankful that all PC volunteers are trained as you have been in malaria prevention. Thank you for sharing the real life stories of people you have come to love and care about in your village. I have great hope for them because You have been there, taught them well, and most of all, loved them well!

Thanks (Chris?) a lot. As I mentioned above, it's easier to write given the topic at hand and the people it directly effects. I just needed to sit and think about it for a moment, open my eyes again, because the results of malaria are all around in Ghana. I will forever count myself lucky for having been able to serve there. As always, I gained much more than I could ever give, but I did my best to add to what I could.
