The good news is that Bama (by the way, he got that name because he comes from Alabama)--anyhow, he is doing a little better. The lungs still have fluid in them and the heart is still enlarged. Picked up my Bama at 6:30am today. Took him to regular vet at 9:00. He needs new diet, (no salt) medicine for the rest of his life and for a while I have to carry him everywhere, plus he needs to have quiet and no excitement. My little black and white dog woke me at 5am this morning. He was gasping for breath and his heart was pounding like crazy. (he's 10). I took him to the emergency vet. clinic as soon as they opened and they got him on oxygen and took x-rays. He evidently has congestive heart failure. This is driving me crazy! (well crazier than usual). Every day lately whenever I go to my lj I have a problem. I live in a senior citizens manufactured home community in Florida. We are required to maintain our properties and are inspected once a year. My driveway and carport looked a little raggedy and I had a choice of new concrete or paint. I chose paint, a nice pale gold. Am I the only one who is totally upset and grossed out by the news media showing the murder and disection of that young giraffe over and over.
It's bad enough that the zoo in Denmark killed it and fed it's body to lions, but they did it in front of a lot of children. And the media shows it over and over. I just want to cry.
