Ooh, I loved Ghost Map! Probably the biology nerd in my but you know, whatever. :) I wasn't as impressed with Mr. Feynman, though. Have you read "What I Believe but Can Not Prove" by John Brockman (well, edited by him). Also, what's that other one... hmm... I'll think of it later.

Yeah, Ghost map was really interesting, even if it had been a fictional story. Sort of like a biological detective novel.

Haven't read the Brockman book, but I'll put it on my list!

I got Kevin Fordlandia for Christmas and he's really liking it so far-- seems like something you might be into. Also, obviously anything I bolded on my list last week is really recommended. Out of those, I think you might like Let's Talk About Love, the Studs Terkel book, and In Cold Blood if you haven't read it before.

This year I'm trying to read through 'classics' a little more deliberately. Seeing your Twain reminded me that I reeeeeally want to read Life on the Mississippi.

Most 'classics' bore me, but I love Twain. Also, I picked up the Dorothy Parker book mostly from the title of your defunct blog, and it turns out she's pretty good.

Not defunct! Latent.

And I have a wider definition of classics... I'm finally getting through Flannery O'Connor's collected stories as a first step in that direction.
