Deep thoughts Pt. 2

I was watching an episode of Scrubs (a medical comedy my roommate likes) and they were all worried about this kid that had Autism. And I'm like... OH?? so autism is bad now?? I thought Napolean Dynamite was supposed to be FUNNY not disturbing (I found it disturbing... yeah sure, pick on the autistic kid). I REALLY hate the media ( Read more... )

Hmm, mind you I didn't read your whole post word for word, but I know that there can be very mild forms of autism. I have a friend who has Aspberger's Syndrome (I'm sure I botched the spelling), and you could hardly guess she is autistic.

Now ... I don't know if you ARE, but even if you were, no one would love you any less. Hehe :3

Yea, I REALLY wanna check it out now lol I mean, yea, I don't think any knowledge would change anything about who I am, I came acrossed a thought. Autism doesn't keep you from being successful, it just keeps you from being NORMAL (and who wants to be normal???);p GET YOUR AUTISM TODAY!! In fact I'd be rather disappointed if there wasn't SOMETHING wrong with me.

I don't think Scrubs was necessarily saying that Autism or OCD are bad things in and of themselves, they just make it really hard for the people who have them to relate to the rest of the world in the same way as everyone else (depending on the severity) and it makes their lives rather difficult, and that's what's bad about them.

Mental Diseases, or is it Mentol Diseases?? pdraggy July 14 2007, 17:40:35 UTC
Not to put OCD and so on down, many people out there DO have hard lives. But that's what they ARE, hard lives. I'm sorry, but I'm just a little apathetic about the whole situation.

However, as cynical as I am, I had met a few people with diagnosed OCD since posting this, and noted that they seemed just as apathetic about the whole situation as I am ;o so basically... I'm bitchin' about nothin'. Those people deserve your 'pity' (if that's what you wanna call it) and additional respect because of their hard lives. I just find the fact some blame it on a disease kind of retarded. Sure, drugs can help... but so can weed...

Thanks for letting me rant about this again though ;p It's nice to have that update and reaffirm it in my imagination. Oh! and Happy Birthday! :D Sorry I missed it, Aes!
