Thanks, hon. She had a good run, but the void is still a little hard to get used to. :)

I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my sweet boy in July after 15.5 years. He was my first and will likely be my only dog. He was, without a doubt, my best and most loyal friend. There are no words.

It bites, yeah? I still have Giles, which has probably been the source of a few extra tears these last few days, because he's so confused about her absence. I really wish I could just explain it to him in plain terms so he would stop looking for her in absurd places like under the kennels. I'm going to have to step up to plate on the dog owner front now, because they always kept each other busy so well, and now he's just got a boring backyard and no one to talk to out there. Lots more walkies on the agenda now, and maybe a few car rides when I'm going places dog-friendly where I otherwise would have left him at home.

This won't be a bad thing. I need a kick up the arse on the dog owner front. I'm a bit of a slacker.

Condolences on your loss. It's a long time to share your life with a creature, and hard to stop doing it so suddenly and irrevocably. *hugs*

I'm so sorry. {{hugs}} My old man dog is starting to decline. I'm dreading the day I have to say goodbye to him.

It's never fun, but it is part of the price of admission. My only advice when the time comes is to pull the pin earlier rather than later, if the choice turns out to be yours to make. And stay with him if you think you possibly can. It's an awful few minutes having them put to sleep, but knowing you were there for them is a priceless comfort after the fact.

I'm glad Neffi went quietly with cuddles, being told she was a good dog. Even if it was a giant bald faced lie. Lol.

My old man is 14 next year, which is half of my life. He's still happy and eating and playing like a loon, so I don't think we're quite at the PTS point yet. He has bad days where he's gimpy and stiff, but we manage those will pain killers.

I'll stay with him, like you did your girl. {{hug}}

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. It's not fair their lifespans are so much shorter than ours. It's always hard to let them go.

So hard! Even when the vet is agreeing it's an appropriate and kind choice, you still drive yourself nuts wondering if you did the right thing at the right time. But she was worth a little heartache in the end, and I'm not sorry for a minute I spent on her.

Thanks, babe. :)

I've lost a pair of glasses by way of Neffi, too. Expensive chew toys! Good luck with your lab!
