That is the difference
between a need,
a want,
and the question mark.
An imperative,
a nice-to-have,
and something that seems to be just beyond the reach.
As if it were some foreign dream
that eludes the mind
even at the strangest of hours.
Maybe its lack of presence
even serves as a reflection
of its "otherness" now --
there is no model to be based upon,
and nothing to match
at all.
